Every child and young person deserves the chance to relax and just have fun. This helps build self-esteem and confidence, so bring on the fun!
Our Story
House of Fun didn't start to make a profit; it started to make a difference.
I started House of Fun out of my firm belief that every child and young person deserves the chance to have fun. The original idea was to supplement the fantastic work done by schools, by providing extra-curricular holiday activities that help children and young people to increase their self-esteem and confidence through fun, diverse activities. As House of Fun has matured, we have added ibrick workshops, after-school clubs and holiday camps to our portfolio of products and services, all of which further our mission and promote the House of Fun values.
Through a safe, fun environment and under the supervision of a fantastic team of friendly and experienced staff, we give children and young people aged 5-15 years old the chance to just be kids. All our activities are carefully planned so that children and young people feel a sense of achievement, make friends and experience new things. Our instructors make sure that every child and young person is catered for while adapting to their skill and comfort level and encouraging them to have a go.
As a holiday activity camp and after-school club provider, House of Fun eases the stress of the school holidays and weekly childcare on parents. We offer weekly after-school clubs, a range of flexible days and hours at our camps to suit parents’ needs, as well as whole-day multi-activity holiday camps running from 8:30am to 6.00pm, and whole-day ibrick holiday camps using LEGO® bricks from 8.30am to 4.30pm, which are designed to complement typical working hours.
As an ibrick in-school workshops provider, we also offer unique, fun and engaging STEM and Careers workshops using LEGO® bricks that are designed by engineers to support the STEM and Careers curriculum.
We believe that business can and should be a force for good.
For this reason, House of Fun also has a social purpose: we set aside a specific number of places at every multi-activity camp to provide for children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. For over ten years, we have worked with disadvantaged children and young people via close links with schools, charities and local authority family support teams.
We believe that happier children and young people lead to stronger, more cohesive communities.
As a teacher, I observed firsthand that unfortunately for some children and young people, circumstances at home meant that the holidays were not always a chance for them to relax and just be kids. At House of Fun, we recognise that inequalities during school holidays can have a negative impact on mental health and wellbeing of children and young people, and can affect children and young people’s readiness to return to school.
Our work doesn't stop when children and young people go home from our activities.
We evaluate and measure our impact, including with disadvantaged families. Through our evidence-based approach, we ensure that our work is making a difference We continuously try to improve what we offer so more and more families can continue to benefit.
